Driving ages need to go up

In the article "Should 16-years old's drive?" Ted Gregory, the writer stated many facts on the reason why the driving age needs to go up. About how it isn't safe for teens that young to be on the road.
Insurance institute for Highway Safety reporters say "no." No about how the driving age is okay. The Institute makes many points and ideas on why the driving age is just fine. They have various examples and teens with experinces to prove it.
Sophmore Linnea Greci who attends Hinsdale Central High school stated, I don't think it matters what age you are, as long as you have the practice and experience."
that is a very good point to make on the situation. Teenagers were given the privalage of driving at that age for a reason. Whenever they were given that privalege, it was because they could be trusted on the road. Just because some teenagers are not being responsibile, doesn't mean that all the teenagers need to be punished.
by raising the driving age, experts think that the fatalities on the road will be lowored. Teenagers are not caring about this and they are not being responsibile, and now people are trying to take the privlage of young teen driveing away.
Researchers also state, "that licensing at later ages would substanilly reduces crashers involving teen drivers." The crash rates are higher now. Car crashes kill about 5,000 teen's every year. That rate is very high and it is not good.
Teenagers think that they are ready for the road but most really are not. Teenagers think in different ways, so their thoughts change easy. they can think just like a grown-up, but what affects their thinking is all of the problems that teens face and go through. such as mixed emotions and taking risks.
Many experts are trying to raise the ages for teenagers to drive, many teens dont even know this so they aren't acting any better. If teens want to keep the chance of being able to drive at 16, they need to be more responsible  on the road. The death rates are too high for teen's to be messing up now.
Surveys show that more than half of adults and teenages are okay with the plan of raising the driving ages. stating that the death rates will go down, less teens will be on the road, and less will be dying.
A 16 year old teenager, Ryan Moore stated, "I've driven with some people who haven"t been driving very long but are pretty good. Some people are ready, and some people aren't."
That statement can tell you that even 16 year old teenagers can do better than most adults while driving. There is no need for the driving ages to go up. As long as that teenage is ready and okay with the road. They should be on it.

climate change

In the article, "Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now?" written by Nicholas D. Kristof they talk about the climate changes and how neither one of the campaign members wanted to talk about it.

Many people say that hurricane sandy put Obama at a big advantage.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated to Obama "we have 100-year floods every two years now." and NY times did get observation that the 10 biggest floods in Manhattan have happened over a 3 year time period. This has happened last in 1900.

The New York times tell people to get themselves ready because of all of the harms that they cause people and the environment surrounding them.

A reporter from the National Climatic Data Center states, "10 of the warmest summers on record for the contiguous United States, seven have happened since 2000." the recent summer drought in the US are one of them.

DailyClimate.org reported that the amount of climate articles have gone down 41% in the years 2009-2011. Politicians have not paid attention enough.

Cleaner energy need to be restored. The past hurricane sandy has ruined many places along the shore. Cleaner energy can be restored if people do not build on these sites that were messed up. Also carbon gasses are a big effect on the climate. If people cut down on the use of greenhouse gasses that will be a big help.

Democrats and republicans are not paying any attention to this. This is not like any candidate because the Republicans brag on about how they are so ready for the worst situations.

The climate on earth is acting up and it’s not good. It isn't how it used to be, and when the republicans and democrats don’t pay attention to, neither do the people. When we as people aren’t paying attention we are setting ourselves up for something that we will not be expecting. It could be another bad hurricane or something worse. Our climate needs to be paid attention to today, not in the future so we can regret it.

ADHD pills being used by non ADHD children

In the article, "Attention Disorder or Not, Pills to Help in School", written by Alan Schwarz, he talks about different reasons of why students and people who don’t have ADHD are using attention pills to do better in school, knowing that they don’t need them.
Dr. Anderson states, "I don’t have a whole lot of choice, we’ve decided as a society that it's too expensive to change the kids environment. So we have to change the kid."
Reports have been made that doctors, such as Dr. Anderson, is giving children these ADHD pills to improve their grades in school. The pills will not help with ADHD; the students schools do not have a lot of money so they give these students pills to make their grades go up and to advance their progress.
Students who do have lots of money and good grades are also using these pills. They use the pills to raise their grades even higher. But doctors state that they are using the pills on schools that don’t have money, and the grades of the students are low. Their parents allow the use of the pills, because they want their students to do well.
Parents families who cannot pay for tutoring or family counseling result in going to use the medication pills. One parent, Jacqueline Williams says that there is no way to thank his for giving her three children the pills. She says that all of her students were having trouble paying attention in their classes and focusing on their work.
She states, "My kids don’t want to take it, but I told them 'these are your grades when you're taking it, this is when you don't and they understood." Ms. Williams also says that she does not pay for the medication. Her insurance plan, Medicaid pays for just about everything of the medication and doctor costs.
Many doctors and many people do not believe that the children are being harmed when they take these pills. But there are doctors who say that the children’s health is being put at risk. Side effects of the pill are growth suppression, increased blood pressure rate, and sometimes psychotic episodes.
With all of these risks, parents should not be giving their children this. The pill will help the kids learning progress. But it will affect their health. No grade is good enough that the child needs to be put in harm’s way just to get it.
A company like The Drug Enforcement Administration puts these pills in the category as addictive. Meaning that even after the student has got all of the grades needed during their years of child hood, they may still use it. Some doctors say that many still use the pills into their adult years long gone after the ADHD affects are gone.
These pills will affect the student’s grade and perhaps make their focusing skills go up during their child hood, but a long term use can affect their adult hood badly. Nobody should have to see their child get hooked onto something that they do not need.

reactions to the election

In the article "Yay! Boo! So? Reactions to Obama win vary" written by Peter Mucha, he talks about how people are reacting to the recent election.
Different people have different opinions on what has changed about the candidates and how the debate was going.
One person, 49 year old Marty Brenna from Laurel Springs has word to say about the debate. He states "I'm a little bit disappointed. I wasn't really happy with either candidate."
Marty is not the only person who would feel this way. He may have other reasons on why not to like the candidates. Each candidate had different opinions on different subjects.
Barbra Drucker who is a 61 year old woman from Collingswood had a different opinion. "I am thrilled to death." she stated. "I would have never voted for Romney on women's issues alone."
Many other people all out through the United States were shocked by what Romney had to say about cutting off different funding’s and other needs for young women. And even older women. Being a female and having Romney as president would be hard for Barbra.
Other responses were being made due to hurricane sandy. "I think the storm put him over the edge." stated 53 year old Len Burkhardt from Haddon Heights. He also states, "I certainly do give some of the credit to Chris Christie."
Len says that he would rather have Mitt Romney in the white house then Obama, claiming that
Romney is more of a businessman; he says that Obama is "not as fiscally smart or fiscally responsible."
There are many views and both candidates are being criticized about what they have been doing and what they are doing now. People are very angered because they thought that Romney was a little crazy because of the things that he was planning on doing.
Obama fans from his first term are also angered. "I'm not happy, I haven't had a job in over a year.' stated a 51 years old man Chuck Pihl from Haddon Heights.
That will anger people because Obama promised changed, and when Chuck has said this, you can tell that he is not happy.
"I knew Barack was going to win, I think he's more trustworthy. He seems more of a people person." Said 45 year old Jackie Harrison from Coatesville.
All different people have all different opinions about Obama vs. Mitt. But at the end, Obama won. so you can determine even though many people do not like what Obama has not been doing, the people who voted for him believe that he can still change and he is the better choice for the United States.
his way. He may have other reasons on why not to like the candidates. Each candidate had different opinions on different subject.
